Your first visit includes a detailed assessment and treatment.
Your follow-ups include a more streamlined intake and reassessment, building on progress from past visits.
We will:
review your main concerns and goals
assess how your body is moving and where it may be compensating
provide hands-on treatment based on what we find
offer clear guidance on next steps
Treatments are guided by how your body is functioning, not just where symptoms are felt.
During the Session
We may assess movement, strength, or range of motion
Treatment may involve acupuncture, manual therapy, or both (depending on your booking)
We will likely reassess during, and after treatment to see what’s changed
Sessions are interactive — feedback during treatment is essential.
-
It’s normal to experience:
temporary soreness, bruising or fatigue in treated areas
feeling tired or energized
changes in how your body moves or feels over the next 24–48 hours (maybe even in places we didn’t treat)
These responses usually settle within a day or two. Noticing and sharing them at your follow-up visits is helpful, as they guide how we tailor your next treatment.
If you have questions after your visit, please reach out or let us know at your next appointment.
For any severe symptoms, please seek medical care promptly.
Our Approach To Treatment
Take a moment to learn about how we treat — so we can dive right in at your first visit.
Acupuncture at Mend Health Co. uses a neuromuscular, assessment-driven approach to support pain relief, recovery, and long-term human performance.
Registered Massage Therapy at Mend Health Co. uses a movement-informed, clinically focused approach to reduce pain and support lasting physical resilience.
Treatment Plans
For tangible results — you will likely need to see us more than once.
Treatments work best when they follow a clear plan instead of one-off sessions. Your treatment plan will shift depending on where you are in the healing process.
In the beginning, we focus on building momentum and reducing pain with more frequent visits. Once symptoms are under control, sessions are spaced further apart to maintain progress and prevent future issues.
-
1-2 visits per week for the first 3 weeks. This is when things are acute or flaring. We’re focused on breaking old patterns, calming pain, and getting weak or inhibited muscles working again.
-
1 visit every 2-3 weeks. Once symptoms are easing and stability has improved, we shift to weekly visits. Changes are starting to hold longer, but pain or tension may still creep back. These treatments reinforce progress and help build lasting patterns.
-
Visits every 4-6 weeks. When you’re feeling better, we move into regular tune-ups to keep you steady, prevent setbacks, and support your body so you can stay active and keep doing what you love.
Pro Tip — Booking your follow-ups ahead of time ensures availability and the best results.
